Need some counter-programming to the barrage of election coverage sure to inundate the airwaves tonight? How about the opening of the 2004/2005 NBA season? TNT will broadcast a doubleheader tonight showcasing Houston traveling to Detroit to take on the reigning NBA champs followed by Team Kobe taking on the Denver Nuggets in La La land. Coverage begins at 8 p.m.
And what of the Washington Wizards you ask? Well, count on them getting off to a slow start this year. Four players in their rotation will start off the year on suspension and another three are hurt, so expect to see a lot of Michael Ruffin, Laron Profit and Peter John Ramos for the first few games.
Since everyone is busy tending to the future of the country today, we crammed our Wizards season preview down to 50 words or less:
Washington Wizards: Team in turmoil before season even starts. Jamison will be All Star in East, due to no comp and all the shots he’ll get. Wiz now Warriors East with Jamison, Hughes and Arenas reunited. Team has potential, but those three didn’t get along the first time around.
The Wiz begin the season at Memphis on Wednesday and travel to Charlotte on Thursday before opening their home schedule Saturday night against Shaquille O’Neal and the Miami Heat.
