Sure, you’ve heard that after weeks of Red Line delays and weekend track work, WMATA is scheduled to finally open the brand-new New York Avenue-Florida Avenue-Gallaudet University station tomorrow. All this is well and good, but what can you get to from the new station?
The most obvious destinations are of course the station’s namesake, Gallaudet University, the old Capital Children’s Museum where Artomatic is on display, and the huge hole that will be the future home to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
Although the Union Station Metro stop might be closer, the new station is also close to parts of the H Street Corridor and the Greyhound bus station.
The AOL Digital City D.C. editors blog also points out FUR Nightclub can also be found in the area. More info on the club’s events can be found at Momentum Productions.
Shown is the building which formerly housed the Capital Children’s Museum, now home to Artomatic. What are we missing? Leave it in the comments!
