Although it may be more than a month away, it seems in D.C. it’s never too early to look forward to the Presidential Inauguration. What do you need to know?

First things first. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Activities boasts a spiffy new website with historical tidbits, an FAQ, and a webcam on the stage under construction, and a page with instructions about getting tickets to the swearing-in ceremony. The NY Post reports Democratic lawmakers in New York have plenty of inaugural tickets, which are distributed through the offices of Senators and Representatives.

Regular readers will remember our earlier reporting on preliminary security and protest planning. See DCist on which groups have applied for permits, early protest planning by area activists, the closing of the West Front of the Capitol to construct the stage, heightened security measures planned including 4,000 combat troops.
