Supreme Court Justices Stephen Breyer and Antonin Scalia are scheduled to speak at Amerian University’s Washington College of Law from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 13.

The talk is provocatively titled a “conversation on the Relevance of Foreign Law for American Constitutional Ajudication,” which we can imagine is likely to produce some judicial sparks. If you’re interested in attending RSVP by Jan. 10 by contacting the law school at (202) 274-4075 or secle(at)wcl.american.edu. D.C.’s own SCOTUSBlog, where we read about the event in the first place says it will be streamed live on the web by the College, but there’s no details about that as yet on their website.

Justice Scalia, who speaks frequently at schools and campuses, was sued by the Associated Press last April after he instructed a U.S. Marshall to delete recordings of his speech being made an AP and local newspaper reporter. Apparently a man of irony, the incident occurred when Justice Scalia was speaking to a group of high school students on the U.S. Constitution.

If you can’t make the talk but would still like to see your favorite Justice in action, you can always stop by the Supreme Court building to drop in on oral arguments, and with a little advance planning you can even try to shoot for an interesting case.
