The D.C. Cat Assistance Team, an organization aiming to “humanely reduce the feral and stray cat population” in the District will conduct a weekend spay-a-thon called “Feline Frenzy” for D.C. cats at $5 per animal. “If cats could practice safe sex, they would,” DC CAT says in a press release.
The organization, in conjunction with the Humane Alliance of Asheville, N.C., will spay 450 cats in D.C. over two days, Feb. 19-20. Feline owners with cats that are in need of service are advised to reserve a time.
The first-of-its-kind effort is looking for volunteers as well. But there is mandatory volunteer training to be hosted in two sessions at Eaton Elementary School (34th and Lowell sts NW) in Cleveland Park on Saturday.
