Even Shadow Senator Paul Strauss had a car in the parade. And a classic one, to boot.

For those of us who considered the idea of an electronic music massive dead, Omnipresent Syndicate has a prepared a compelling case as to why we should reconsider. Enter Gathering DC, a party tomorrow night at Love featuring some of the best house DJs in the world.

The first class lineup includes David Morales, one of the first “Superstar DJs,” Miami’s Robbie Rivera, and New York’s Todd Terry (known for his remix “I’ll House You” by the Jungle Brothers). Some other standouts include local Sam “the Man” Burns, who has been bringing smiles to the faces of dancers everywhere over the years here in D.C; and Chicago veteran Roy Davis Jr, who tore up the decks as a resident of Omnipresent’s weekly at the Gallery this past summer. The first floor will be taken over by 88 Music, who offer a multisensory experience complete with audio-visuals complementing dubstep, minimal, IDM, tech-house and breaks music. We’re looking forward to taking in Aligning Minds, a two-person Live PA act creating IDM and breaks through their PCs and synths.

Omnipresent, in conjunction with 88 Music and a number of sponsors, has managed to circumnavigate its way past the pitfalls of other electronic music events (licenses, money, location, conceptions of it being a “rave,” to name a few) to bring D.C. this unrivaled line-up.

Additional plusses: event sponsor Puma will have a “Mongolian BBQ” area in which you can buy and design your own shoes. There are breakers scheduled to perform, multimedia shows to take in, four floors to play on and over 14 DJs to catch. For those of us with insatiable appetites for dance, Gathering DC presents an all you can eat meal. All this the day before Thanksgiving — allowing us to shed some pounds before regaining it all on stuffing, pie and turkey.

The best part of this event? DCist has a pair of tickets to give away, courtesy of 88 Music. To win, leave a comment with a story about your favorite, least favorite, most compelling, life changing or otherwise noteworthy DJ set or club experience in the DC area. We’ll pick a favorite response based upon the completely subjective criteria of which one we liked best. You must leave a valid email address to win. We will notify a winner tomorrow. Good Luck!
