Damn alarms. We’re a little late on flipping through our newspaper this morning, so stay tuned as we live-blog the news.

9:29 a.m.: Since Adrian Fenty doesn’t already have enough to do, he’ll be fielding questions in an online chat over at the Post at 11 a.m. We’d like to know how he can spend the time keeping his head so nicely shorn when we’re still trying to balance sleep, work, and shaving once a week.

9:32 a.m.: The Post tells us this morning that car-sharing companies in the District are doing quite well, so well, in fact, they Zipcar just dumped $25 million into double its current fleet of 350 cars. Of course, this makes us wonder whether the city will start setting aside more and more on-street spots for shared cars services.

9:40 a.m.: Huh. Fenty is going to Miami this week to talk school reform.

9:43 a.m.: Women, beware of the area around Howard University. WTOP is reporting that there have been four attempted sexual assaults there in the last three days.

9:45 a.m.: Now, we need a picture.

9:46 a.m.: Ahhhh, perfect. This is coming together nicely, isn’t it now?

9:50 a.m.: The Edge-Wet club, long famous for its live shower shows, has been looking for a new home ever since it vacated its property in the entertainment district-to-be around the new stadium. And though it’s receiving a chilly reception pretty much wherever it looks, the Washington Times is reporting that its owners are still looking. On top of their list is the New York Avenue corridor in Northeast.

9:55 a.m.: Cheaters beware — the Virginia Department of Transportation has installed a $7.6 million camera system on its toll roads, looking to catch the cheapskates that skip out on paying their dues. Apparently the existing honor system has cost the state $1.4 million, of which $1.2 million was lost on the Dulles Toll Road.

This Day in DCist: On this day last year, we enjoyed the thought of a tow truck operator facing charges, we gave props to Tom Sherwood, and we discussed gentrification, real estate, and restaurants. Two years ago, “blog” was recognized as the word of the year, and we gave you the story behind the National Christmas Tree.
