>> One lucky DCist reader will be at the Rock and Roll Hotel tonight on us for The Cinematics, The Clientele Changes, and Cedars. But with $8 advance tickets ($10 at the door), there’s no excuse for you not to head down and enjoy the show even if you don’t win. Doors at 9 p.m.

>> Wednesday night is always the best (the only?) night to head to Madam’s Organ, when the bar serves up its regular Bluegrass Night with the excellent Bob Perilla’s Big Hillbilly Bluegrass Band. Head over for dinner and stay for the show, which usually gets going around 9 p.m. As always, redheads get half price Rolling Rocks.

>> Artomatic is still trucking along, with only about 11 days left to go. Tonight they’re offering up a ton free entertainment options, including a Short Film series at 6:30 p.m., performances by folksy singer-songwriters Daniel David Johnson and MYSTR Treefrog, plus Jon Braman (who describes himself as a ukelele-rapper, and has a new album titled Climatastrophunk). Check out the full schedule for tonight here.

>> The D.C. Public Library is celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with a series of free film screenings. If you head down to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library tonight at 6:30, you’ll be treated to the brilliantly titled Blind Shaft, Yang Li’s gritty 2003 film about a pair of Chinese miners with a “brilliant” plan to murder a co-worker, make it look like an accident, and blackmail their boss to keep it a secret. Naturally, things don’t go quite as planned.
