Last week was a busy one when it comes to good comments, with thoughtful and funny ones about the Navy Yard Metro, Columbia Heights Day’s existence, avatars, and more.
And speaking of avatars, why not set up your own? Maybe you can be like monkeyrotica, who was the talk of DCist’s commentariat — what’s his going to be? Something profane? Something phallic? Mr. Monkey’s response was this:
For an avatar, I was about to go for a goatse-cum-tubgirl motif, but try crowbarring that into 100×100 pixels. My eyesight’s bad enough as it is, what with all the self abuse and backalley Lasik treatments.

The post about renaming the Navy Yard Metro had some funny responses. Reid‘s take:
I say we wait until Eastern Motors gets the naming rights for the stadium and then make them pay for the signage change to Navy Yard-Your Job’s Your Credit Field Station.
rj added:
…Instead of word why not symbols next to the name of the stop:
Navy Yard- A Baseball
Gallery Place-Basketball/Hockystick
Stadium Armory-Soccer ball
Landover- Football or a diminutive power hunger man pick pocketing you while spending the money on overprice over the hill talent.
After the jump, gentrification comment shenanigans, anti-Muslim posters at GW, and good ideas all around.
