Feldman has recorded with artists as diverse as John Zorn and They Might Be Giants while Courvoisier has worked with a number of notable European artists. >> On Friday, well-known smooth jazz keyboardist Alex Bugnon begins a three night stand at Blues Alley with daily 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. sets. Tickets are $25 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.

>> Also on Friday, veteran saxophonist Joe Ford comes to Twins Jazz for a two night stand. A longtime member of piano legend McCoy Tyner’s band, Ford has 35 recordings to his credit and is one of those journeyman musicians whose time is long past due. Tickets to the 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. sets are $18.

>> Our pick for the weekend is vocalist Rekha Ohal (pictured), who is playing this Saturday at HR-57 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.. A former resident of D.C., now based in Denver, Ohal’s songs blend elements of traditional jazz, world music, and R&B. $12
