Well, you kind of knew that this news would be coming, didn’t you? In what has become somewhat of a Washington wintertime tradition, a mass snowball fight has been scheduled to take place inside Dupont Circle at 8 p.m. tonight.

Based on the event’s Facebook page, there’s already more than two dozen people planning on attending, though word has just started to get around, so that number should increase. Last year, a mini-series of Dupont Circle snowball fights turned out to be great fun, pitting North versus South — however you wanted to interpret that — in battles of glorious proportions.

With at least one meterologist stating that tonight’s storm will be perfect for those “craving to throw a big snowball at anybody,” it certainly sounds like the right time to warm up your throwing arm. As always, here’s hoping that tonight’s fight doesn’t get too out of hand.
