Don’t forget to check out DCist’s Arts Agenda and Weekly Music Picks for additional entertainment events, including gallery crawls and gypsy punk band Gogol Bardello Saturday at the Black Cat.

FRIDAY:
>> Everyone is buzzing about The Music/Kasabian show at the 9:30 Club tonight, but if you miss it, you can head to DC9 afterwards for the official Kasabian afterparty — just show your handstamp from the 9:30 Club and you can get in free to a night of Liberation Dance Party.

>> The Martha Graham Dance Company, American’s oldest contemporary dance ensemble, is at the Kennedy Center this evening. The performance will feature the classic “Appalachian Spring,” a tribute to America’s pioneer spirit. Read a Post article here. 8 p.m., $21-50.

SATURDAY:
>> If you were into our review of the Ralph’s World kiddie music show, then you should definitely check out The Candy Band, a group of moms from Detroit who have “the soul of the Ramones and the Stooges” and play music for tots, including tunes about Playdough and Scooby Doo. They’ll be playing a Pancake Mountain Dance Party at the Warehouse Theater from 1-3 p.m. (For those who haven’t heard of it, Pancake Mountain is a local kids’ TV show with fabulous musical guests; you might want to check out this clip of some kids bopping along to The Arcade Fire.)

>> Is opera your thing? Then head to the Kennedy Center for the Middle Atlantic Region Auditions of the Metropolitan Opera National Council, where cutthroat divas will be outsinging one another for a chance to be America’s next idol. Er, or something like that. 1 p.m., $15.

SUNDAY:
>> With The Nationals happily batting along in spring training, why not take this chance to bid adieu to Camden Yards in Baltimore? You can get full 90-minute tours of the stadium several times a day on Sunday. $7 for adults; call (410) 547-6234 for more information.

>> The Emancipation Proclamation, the inspiring historic document that helped end slavery, is on display for only a few days at the National Archives. “… And by virtue of the power, and for the purpose aforesaid, I do order and declare that all persons held as slaves within said designated States, and parts of States, are, and henceforward shall be free…” Check it out. 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

MONDAY:
>> Celebrate Presidents Day by heading to the George Washington Birthday Parade in Alexandria. There’ll be everything from military reenactors to marching bands to … a group of llamas? Yup. 1 p.m., King Street in Old Town Alexandria.

>> We’d also recommend a bike ride along the Mount Vernon trail, but according to Capital Weather, “Two of Washington, D.C.’s biggest snowstorms have occurred over Presidents Day weekends in past years. Seventeen inches fell in 2003, and 19 inches accumulated in 1979. Will Presidents Day once again be white? Chances are looking up, but we won’t have a repeat of the mammoth ’79 and ’03 storms.”
