
Mollusk Fight on the Hill: Oyster growers are came to the Hill yesterday to oppose listing the Atlantic oyster as an endangered species. While they argue that there are billions of oysters in the territory stretching from New England to Louisiana, Rep. Wayne Gilchrest (R-Md.) stated that there should be “trillions.” We remember a similar fight over rockfish — and they’ve done well.

Mother Questioned in Son’s Murder: Julia Barber, mother of the slain Donmiguel Nathaniel Wilson, was questioned yesterday in the death of her six-year-old son. Barber had complained to her son’s paternal grandfather of “hearing voices and speaking to the devil.” Police believe Barber has implicatd herself of the murder; she has been checked in to an emergency psychiatric program.
