And a Mercedes.

Good morning, Washington. We hope you had an enjoyable weekend – whether it was checking out the D.C. United game (they tied Chicago 0-0 and will play again next weekend), discovering the FSM in the Metro, or checking out Howard’s homecoming. Be prepared for wet weather today – today will be cloudy with rain developing later in the day and temperatures in the 50s.

Hip-hop Artist Shot Over Weekend: Hip-hop artist Cameron Giles was shot over the weekend in what his manager is calling a botched carjacking, the Post reports. Giles had become separated from his entourage after leaving the H20 club when his 2006 Lamborghini was approached by two armed men at New York and New Jersey Avenues. Giles was shot through both arms as he drove away. He was released from Howard University Hospital yesterday.

More Spaces For Shared Cars: The District government has set aside another 50 spaces for use by the two major shared car services – Flexcar and Zipcar — bringing the total to 200, the W. Times reports. The reserved spaces have been bitterly opposed by residents in some busy neighborhoods, yet they are rationalized as only fair for use by residents who do not own a car. The city’s agreement with the companies requires they place cars in every ward in the city.

Tai Shan Gets Feisty: The National Zoo’s baby panda — recently named Tai Shan — is doing well. NBC4 reports that the bear has been “struggling to break free when his mom, Mei Xiang, holds him or washes him with her tongue.” We wonder if the panda will pass through a moody phase and lock himself in his room listening to Nirvana.

Briefly Noted: The Post examines road rage … Hundreds of dead fish found in Capitol Reflecting Pool … The Examiner discovers Silver Spring.
