FRIDAY:

Canadian supergroup Stars wowed Death Cab for Cutie fans when they opened their show last year at 9:30 Club, and now they return as headliners to set the Black Cat stage on fire. Of course, this concert has been sold out for ages, and the desperation for tickets on Craigslist is palpable. We’ll see you fellow lucky bastards in what will no doubt be a breathtakingly long will-call line. For the rest of you, tune back in for a complete review from DCist Jason, who promises to try not to gloat too much about his free press passes. With Magnet, starting 9:30 p.m.

SATURDAY:

You’re pretty much a damned fool if you don’t get your butt down to the National Gallery of Art this weekend to check out two big-time exhibitions: Cézanne in Provence (which we wrote about here) and Dada (which we’ll write about soon). As an extra incentive, we’d recommend catching the Washington premiere of the one-hour Jackson Frost documentary Cézanne in Provence at 2:30 p.m. It’ll be crowded, but it’ll be worth it.

Charlie Murphy has sold out FOUR NIGHTS IN A ROW at the DC Improv. Damn. It sure is incredible what hanging out with Dave Chappelle and having a lot of drug-fueled stories from Hollywood in the 1980s to tell will do for your career. Note to Corey Haim: Make friends with Dave Chappelle. Give Craigslist a try for tickets.

SUNDAY:

Stephen Wadsworth’s adaptation of Molière’s Don Juan at the Shakespeare Theatre Company caused our intrepid theater critic to gush: “When a 17th century play feels fresh, contemporary and accessible, without having to modernize the setting or pull any other tricks, you know a production is on to something.” You can read the full review here. Tickets range from $32.75 to $64.75, consult the web site for showtimes. Through March 19.

The Borf love runs on high through March 26th at Wallsnatchers. Graffiti artists from several big cities have tagged and marked the entire former Staples store (last seen holding Frank Warren’s Postsecret) in a show that becomes a massive “how-to” installation. If the opening was any indication, this show will be packed every weekend with its luxurious 12 -8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours. There’s no better time to establish your love or hate knowledge for these severely talented miscreants. 3307 M Street, NW. (Adrian Parsons)
