Good morning, Washington. Today is the day of the Voting Rights March. If you can, gather at Freedom Plaza at 2:30 p.m. to march to the capitol with your friends from DCist and other Washingtonians. Or, just meet us for the rally planned at 4 p.m. at the Capitol Reflecting Pool. Either way, we hope you make it out for at least one hour to show your support for District voting rights. Don’t let this weather stop you from standing up and being counted.

Wind!: Speaking of weather, it’s going to be extremely windy and cool all day today, and The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gusts could be up to 60 mph in some places. A less scary sounding Wind Advisory (30mph sustained winds, gusts to 50mph) is in effect from now until 11 a.m., and then again tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.NBC4 is reporting downed trees and power lines, so do be careful out there. CapitalWeather.com says we can expect a stray shower or two on top of it all, with a high of around 50, even though all this nastiness is a result of a spring No’reaster that hit the rest of the east coast much harder than it did here.

Baby Shower Turns Deadly: There is no local news outlet in D.C. that isn’t running a splashy headline about this terrible story of a family gathering that ended in the murder of a PG County man. Police are looking for Eric Dixon of the 7100 block of Greeley Road in the Hyattsville area, who witnesses say shot and killed Jerrod A. Falls as the victim was leaving his sister’s baby shower. Falls’ girlfriend, who is Dixon’s sister, was also shot, but her injuries are not life threatening.
