>> KRS-One is “The Teacher” for a reason — besides being an over-40 MC still preaching against violence, misplaced hatred, and government corruption, he’s also been a crucial influence for nearly every MC who came after him. SUNDAY:
>> Sunday looks to be our best chance for beautiful weather this weekend, so consider taking advantage of two outdoor street fairs. The annual Taste of Arlington runs from noon to 5 p.m. in Ballston and offers live entertainment and a breadth of offerings from area restaurants. Tickets are no longer available in advance online, but can be purchased at the gate for $25. If you’re willing to go a little farther out, Taste of Wheaton will happen from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. has similar fare for a much cheaper price: free admission and plenty of $1 tasting menus.
>> It’s the last day of Artomatic. The damn thing’s been running for five weeks, so if you haven’t been out to check it out yet despite our frequent reminders, for shame.
>> If you’ve never seen Pretty Girls Make Graves perform live, tonight is your last chance. The band stops by the Black Cat on their farewell tour tonight. $13 tickets are still available for this 8 p.m. show, with Moonrats and Call Me Lightning.
