I’m not above admitting that I have, at one time or another, accidentally tried to open the wrong apartment door after an long evening on the town. (Hey, sometimes those high-rise hallways start looking exactly the same.) Fortunately for me, the building I was stumbling around had locks on all the doors; this morning, a juvenile in Gaithersburg wasn’t so fortunate. After mistakenly attempting to enter a home on the 400 block of Muddy Branch Road while intoxicated, said juvenile was shot in the chest by a resident who assumed that the juvenile was trying to rob the place. The juvenile suffered non life-threatening injuries — pretty fortunate for staring down someone toting a shotgun, I’d say — and I’d assume will probably think really, really hard about ever drinking ever again.
