Just Say It’s So, Tony!: According to friends of D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams, the passion and populism he expressed in his recent State of the District address must mean something. What that is, though, they don’t know, but another run at the mayor’s office is what many of them are hoping, reports the Post. Political allies and advisers agree that Williams seems emboldened, proposing more than $200 million in new programs and tax relief in his recently submitted budget and taking on mayoral candidates-to-be Councilmemeber Adrian Fenty (D-Ward 4), Michael A. Brown, and A. Scott Bolden. Will an exploratory committee be soon in coming? Read DCist’s take on the State of the District address.

Georgetown Hunger Strike Growing: Twenty-six students at Georgetown University protesting for living wages for university service workers have entered day nine of their hunger strike, and may have gained powerful allies in the process. AFL-CIO officials stood beside the student activists yesterday and vowed to join the protest were progress not made, the Post reports. D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton endorsed the protestors, as did the university’s history department. Negotiations between the two sides continue.

Cop, or Not? The Maryland National Capital Park Police and FBI are warning motorists and residents to beware of police impersonators, reports the W.Times.
