Injured Traffic Officer Dies: Popular traffic office Joseph Pozell, who was recognized at a vigil Sunday, has died at George Washington Hospital, the Post reports.
D.C. Government Wants to Know: D.C. Mayor Anthony A. Williams discussed the lack of communication between District and federal officials at a meeting with Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff yesterday, the W. Times reports. City officials were not notified during last week’s evacuation of the Capitol and White House, apparently due to inadequate or unclear policies: “D.C. police could have learned earlier about the unauthorized plane through a phone line that connects the Federal Aviation Administration to a department speakerphone. However, the phone was disconnected sometime between the night of May 10 and the May 11 incident.”
