The article describes how derailments could have been avoided by track lubrication, and incidents where the track breaks may be the result of poor inspection protocols.

Jack’s Boathouse Holds On: The Examiner discusses today Jack’s boathouse – the last remaining private boathouse on the Potomac. The boathouse is located near the Key Bridge and almost under the Whitehurst Freeway, and the Examiner observes that “All over town, the river rats are getting ‘improved’ or regulated out of business,” and development pressures may yet reach Jack’s.

Little Urban Planners: The W. Times profiles the 12-year-old CityVision program, hosted by the National Building Museum, that teaches a group of middle school students about urban planning.
