Suitcase Forgotten, Results in Union Station Closure: WTOP notes that last night around 8 p.m. it was discovered that someone left a piece of luggage unattended at Union Station, forcing its closure for a few hours. Metrorail trains were running through the station, but not stopping to allow passengers off. On top of that, 10 Amtrak trains were delayed for nearly three hours.
Car Found Thursday Night in Canal Near Potomac: A car was found in the C & O Canal near Potomac, MD late Thursday night. NBC 4 reports that a person was pulled from the car at midnight, but their condition was listed as unknown.
Task Force Tackles Tysons: No fear, the Tysons Land Use Task Force is here to save the day! Well, kind of. The Examiner reports that the group of urban planners is “charged with guiding development around the four planned Metro stations, is seeking a firm to provide recommendations for the potential reshaping of Tysons Corner”. Might one be able to — gasp! — actually cross the street in Tysons without possibly getting run over by a Fairfax Connector or two? Only time will tell.
Details Traced, 911 Call Released in Georgetown Murder: NBC 4 relays details of the 911 call that a bypasser in a cab made when he spotted the attack on 27-year-old Alan Senitt and his female companion last week. The Washington Post does some link-tracing in regards to preceding events that led up to the attack. Two of the people charged in the attack have admitted to being involved in two other armed robberies in D.C.
